Hello my name is Becky and I live on the Rosneath peninsula. I started on my creative path after retiring from a career in Outdoor Education. The name Woolly Jools came from the initial felted jewellery that I made!
I love working with wool it is such a versatile medium. I have taught myself to spin, weave, felt and sometimes knit and there is nothing more rewarding than turning raw fleece(Wool) into pictures, scarves, hats, cushions, bags, purses or jewellery.
I love to use, wool and silk fibres and textiles to create felted landscape pictures from my large collection of Scottish photographs. I am passionate about the Outdoors and our beautiful natural landscape, its colours and forms are a continual inspiration for my work. Sometimes I will use found objects from the beach or garden, driftwood, dried flowers and seed heads, which I incorporate into my pictures.
As well as felting landscape pictures, I also do dog portraits and felted animals.
I have also kept bees for over 20 years in my garden and sell the honey and beeswax candles.
I sell at craft fairs around the Lomond area and am happy to be contacted directly for honey sales or commissions. I have a facebook page where you can see further examples of my work.
