Kara Craft Art

Hi I am Hillary Tenzing named after Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tensing, I live in the beautiful Hamlet of Cove around the peninsula from Helensburgh.

I named my collection
KARA craft ART

Kara derived from ‘chara’ is greek for ‘JOY’ and this is how I feel when I create and this is how I would love my work to be received. If I can make someone feel joy when they see or have a piece of my Craft or Art I feel a job well done …the circle is complete.

I’m a butterfly of creativity.

I love to explore every possibility, whether it’s painting with mixed media, Acrylic, oils, pastel, pyrography or fabric and threads..

Textiles just present a lovely tactile dimension of expressing my love of creativity. Inspired by nature and it’s ability to create form…

If something is blank I will give it shape and purpose…

Whilst creating each task it teaches me that we are all being moulded into being the best version of oneself.

I’m a homebody who loves the wilderness, a quiet introvert who loves meaningful connection, and a firm believer that every artist deserves a chance to share their work in a way that feels right.

I can see a piece of wood in it’s most original state and I’m drawn to it’s beauty, trees serve us continually and when they lose a limb, it’s not always the end…

It’s a beginning for me and an appreciation that the tree continues to live after it’s felled. Whether it becomes paper, sculpted furniture or instruments, the sound of the tree lives on, how precious they are!

Thank you for your support and having a piece of Kara Craft Art, I am truly full of gratitude 🙏🌸
